PC Andrew Duncan was a traffic officer serving with the Metropolitan Police Traffic Division based at the Merton Traffic Unit.  He was tragically killed in a hit and run by a high speeding vehicle whilst on duty in September 2013.

Andrew was a police officer for 23 years and was a respected member of the community and an active volunteer in the scouts.  He was a loyal husband and loving father to his two children.

This fund has been set up to honour Andrew with a memorial and to support projects close to his heart in the community and for the police.

For Andrew

A fitting memorial to honour Andrew (TBC).
To pay tribute to Andrew who lost his life in the line of duty and commemorate his sacrifice in public service. It will provide a focal point and visible means for family, friends, colleagues and fellow scouts to reflect on the loss of Andrew, who was an integral part of the community and to know that he will not be forgotten.

For The Community

Andrew lived near the River Thames in East Molesey all his life and was passionate about the water. He was a sea scout as a boy and continued to be actively involved in the 1st Molesey Scout Group. He regularly enjoyed family holidays sailing, wind surfing and canal boating. To honour Andrew’s achievements by creating a legacy, something positive in his memory which will reflect his dedication to his job and the community through the scouts and his passion for the water. We are currently establishing a river safety and awareness programme in association with the Marine Policing Unit.

For The Police

We have chosen two police charities to support.  The Traffic Patrol Orphans Club, a charity Andrew closely supported and Care of Police Survivors (COPS) a UK charity dedicated to helping the families of police officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty, rebuild their lives.
